26 December 2024 - Cast On

 My knitting journey has begum. Mother has cast on for me as this is not a technique I need to know as I can't see this becoming an all consuming passion. She also rattles off the first 40 stitches in no time and the various movements are drummed into my semi consciousness - "through, over, under off". Repeat until bored.

It is now my turn and I start off pretty well and manage to complete the 2nd row without too many issues. The main problems I can see on the horizon are that my thumb is already starting to gripe and I can't really see what I'm doing. I have 12 months to get this done so a couple of rows a week should see me through.
